KUNG FU CONDITIONING

Conditioning training is the first step to Kung Fu training. Through strengthening every part of the body, the Kung Fu practitioner strives to turn every part of his body into a weapon or a shield. That which is soft must be toughened, that which is stiff must be loosened.

Through honing every part of the body through rigorous calisthenic exercises we craft a physique that is capable. A single of hour of this training will leave you sweating and gasping for air.

A typical training will involve a brief warming up followed by some light stretching. Afterwards, the brunt of the exercises will begin, duck walks, frog jumps, walking lunges, horse stance practise, and other basic strengthening exercises will be done ad nauseam. The latter part will involve skill work, such as kip-ups, dragon flags, and more. Finally, conditioning exercises such as the so-called three star and abdomen exercises will be done to finish. To cool down, a short stretch and massage will mark the end of the session.
