TAOLU TRAINING

AVAILABILITY UPON REQUEST

Taolu, traditionally know as Quan or Kune are a set of pre-choreographed moves that simulate fighting techniques. Karate practitioners might know this as kata, Taekwondo people might know this as poomse. These pre-choreographed set of fighting techniques are not immediately apparent as being practical. However, the practise of these forms will familiarise the user with the proper body mechanics and movements needed for combat. It is like a set-form boxing drill. Your muscles will remember the moves you have practised thousands, or tens of thousands of times. It is this near-endless repetition that lies the essence of this art.

The repetition of this set of moves allows for a practitioners to move towards perfection. Every inch, every millimeter, every pause, every breath, every time a muscle relaxes or tightens. It is the duty of the practitioners to be mindful of their body. When a high level of form practise is achieved, the body will exude mastery of movement. And to master control over your body has immense benefits for other aspects of your life.
